Celebration was in the air at Newport Girls’ High School as this year’s GCSE results were revealed. Around three quarters of results were graded 9-7 this year (A*-A) with 24 students achieving the equivalent of straight A*-A grades in all their subjects. Read more

NGHS was proud to welcome Dr David Llewellyn, Vice Chancellor of Harper Adams University to open our new building. In the presence of Cllr Peter Scott, Mayor of Newport, and around 100 guests and donors, the July evening was a great success. Read more
NGHS are Badminton County Champions!

Our badminton team recently went to the Shrewsbury Sports Village to represent Telford Area in the Badminton County Finals . Once there they needed to play 4 matches against 4 different schools from all over the county. Read more

Y12 Historians inspire positive action on genocide

Year 12 history students have recently led the way in showing how we can use the power of words to change the world for the better. A group of eleven students have collaborated with students from Hampton School to produce a digital textbook entitled ‘Genocide: Know more’. Read more
Double Badminton Success

The U16 and U14 badminton teams competed against multiple school teams during the autumn term, with their skills and ambitious attitude to give 100% in every match prevailing and resulting in both teams successfully going through to the final of the Telford and Wrekin Badminton Championships.
