20 May 2019
NGHS is delighted to be hosting a talk given by Daniel Webb on Tuesday 21 May as part of Sustainable Newport and SustaiNGHS. In a unique personal experiment, Daniel Webb decided to store all the plastic waste he threw in the bin for 12 months. Shortly after moving to Margate on the Kent coast in 2016, he quickly learned that he was not provided with a recycling service at his flat. Motivated by plastic pollution and wanting to dig deeper into murky national recycling figures, he launched a personal investigation to understand exactly what he throws away and where it ends up. In this informative talk, Daniel will outline his findings and illuminate issues around the future of the planet. This is a public event for which free tickets can be reserved by clicking here. A voluntary donation of £2 for the Organisation would be appreciated on the night. The same event is available as an after school talk for students on the same day at 4pm. Students should see Mrs Gill to reserve a place.
